snow and ice

I actually sewed something. In anticipation of spring.

As I type this (at a ridiculously early hour, thanks to my precious son who hates sleep and is too young to be called a jerk about it) the wind is howling, there is a fresh covering of snow, and freezing rain is turning the whole thing into a bumpy skating rink.

I want to remind the universe that we had better weather in January. To which the universe replies, 'That's because you were on Vancouver Island. If you wanted nice warm weather you should of stayed there. But, noooo, you wanted to be among family and friends. You're back in Alberta now, girlie, so suck snow."

The universe definitely seems harsher here.

I have to get my sunshine in other ways.

Looking forward to making more twirly goodness for when the weather finally relents. And also looking forward to a nap when the boy finally relents.

  2. Fantastic skirt. It has a 50's flare to it ... but not too much. Adorable.

  5. Wow the island to Alberta?! That is almost as bad as Kelowna (BC) to Ontario. But I have a love affair with the Island. If it makes you feel better they are getting snow and cold temps too!

  8. I just love the suiting fabrics you use. I wish I had an eye for them like you do, it's just an absolutely adorable skirt, as usual. And the pink chucks are the perfect touch.

  9. We also have those shoes. :) Do you use a serger? Or is the stitch on the ruffle one that any old sewing machine can do? I've been zigzagging my way through a few dresses now that I wanted that same kind of look on, but am now scared to wash them for fear that they are going to fringe horribly!
