all day play

It's easy to dismiss the imaginative devotion that is parenting. I try to pause every once in awhile and give myself a little credit for the creative workout that is the average day with children.

Today I was...

seamstress
chauffeur
tickle monster
story teller
diplomat
paper mermaid surgeon

bad guy
good fairy
judge, jury, and warden
conductor
insurrector of ants

gracious hostess
maker of mama-made chai
invisible
waitress
zoo keeper
architect

nutritionist
personal shopper
dj
referee
tea party attendee
optometrist

  1. That is just a nice way to show, that being a mummy is just as good a job as any. Just way more creativity put into it.

  3. i love how you wrote that down, as sometimes i spend a whole day with my girls and feel i have done nothing. to put it this way means that i have done something, i had many functions and the girls know the difference.
    thanks

  4. SO true! trying to encourage my boys to play together is kinda like being an office manager. breaking up petty squabbles, squashing malicious rumors ( he did it on purpose!), time management for equipment, etc. and throw in all the normal stuff we do plus the hours of entertaining, you get a very special and draining day! Thanks for the reminder that I am more than a bad guy and a maid.
