a surprise every time

Smootch has been asking for a fish for a year now. I have promised her one as soon as 'we get settled'.

Ha.

Smootch figures I'm pretty much useless on the fish acquisition front and decided to take matters in her own hands. With an inspiration from a craft project from volume three of this beautiful book set, a glass vase filled polished glass (supplied by our landlady), cardboard, paper, markers, dental floss and tape, Smootch has made her own darn fish and aquarium, thank you very much.

As soon as I saw what Smootch was building, I just knew it needed  little plastic (paper) castle.  She rejected my suggestion, even after I offered to make the castle.

Smootch says, This is my fish bowl, mom, back off.

But I, like Birdie, have a hard time leaving things alone.

So, with another bit of knick-knackery (there is so much here), some paper, markers, pipe cleaners, dental floss and tape, I made my own fish bowl.

With a little plastic (paper) castle.  Thank you very much.

  2. Hey that is such a cute craft project! I've been wanting some fish also but not the maintenance. I'm going to make my own maintenance-free fish bowl too.

  5. I concur with Mrs Frankenstein on the craft/Ani combo. Both your fish bowls are lovely. How clever is your Smootch??!?!
