Morning Charity! I know you are back in Alberta but I'm not sure where- if you are near Edmonton (or planning a trip here soon), there is a Bug Room in the provincial museum that Smoosh would probably love. If you call ahead to see when a volunteer is in she may get to see some up-close as well, or watch some being fed.
There is also a covered wagon at Fort Edmonton, usually with an interpreter in it. Lots of fun things to do and see at the Fort.
Blackbird again- I ran a search and I see that Smootch already found and loved the covered wagon at Ft Edmonton. John Janzen also has lots of cool nature features (including buckets and nets they lend you to hunt for bugs in the pond & sheets to identify them with) but they are closed for renos right now.
